Focus on low carbon energy
The FECER puts the skills of its members at the service of managers in the energy and research sectors in Europe. From now on, it also wants to make its voice heard more loudly on energy and research issues. « Preserving Europe’s economic and climatic future, thanks to all low-carbon energies, while respecting technological neutrality, is a priority that requires the mobilisation of everyone« , declares Anne LASZLO, the association’s new president.
The FECER will be taking part in the debate ahead of the European elections in 2024. The aim is not only to raise candidates’ awareness of energy issues, but also to stress the importance of Research and Development and the training of engineers, managers and researchers.
At the 2023 General Assembly in Rome, Anne LASZLO succeeded Marco FALERI as President of FECER (European Federation of Executives in Energy and Research). This passing of the torch, decided unanimously by the members, is synonymous with both continuity and the vitality of the association.
The new President, who was previously Treasurer of the FECER and also Europe and International Delegate at CFE Énergies, warmly thanked Marco FALERI of the Italian union FEDERMANAGER for his involvement at the head of the FECER, particularly during the years of the pandemic, which affected all international associations.
The FECER General Assembly unanimously approved the membership of the Hungarian Trade Union EVDSZ.
The members of the FECER, who over the last two years have built up a solid understanding of the diversity of energy issues in Europe through field visits to the Paks (Hungary) and Ignalina (Lithuania) nuclear power plants as well as the Mol (Belgium) research centre, are also interested in the hydrogen sector. Roland GLIBERT, from the CNC-NCK trade union in Belgium, presented the opportunities but also the limits at the meeting hosted by FEDERMANAGER. This information should be expanded upon during field visits in 2024. This desire for direct and concrete contact is a characteristic of the FECER.
